In a few words ...

The Goldert Grand Cru is located north of the village of Gueberschwihr on a gentle, east-facing slope on an Oolithic limestone and marl substratum (Jurassic limestone). Normally a late ripener, the Goldert showed an astonishing ability to ripen grapes quickly in 2012. The harvest took place at the end of October, with a certain percentage of noble rot (20%), which explains the richness of this wine, and an end to fermentation with alcohol that was not too high. The ripeness certainly took us by surprise, which is why we hadn't started a VT control process for this wine. Had the weather forecast at the end of October 2012 been better, this vineyard would have been an excellent candidate for a Sélection de Grains Nobles.

Tasting notes

Appearance

Intense golden color, indicating good maturity.

Aroma

The nose is very expressive, with floral (rose, wild geranium) and citrus (especially grapefruit) aromas, but remains delicate and not overly insistent.

Wine Floral | Fruity

Taste

The wine's structure is soft and delicate, to the point that a sensation of lightness remains in the memory. A wine that will need some time to evolve before tasting.

Wine Aromatique | Elégant
