Rittersberg Pinot Noir is an emblematic red wine made from Pinot Noir, the only red grape variety grown in Alsace. This wine is distinguished by its aging in 400L or 600L barrels, giving it more structure, body and complexity than traditional Alsace Pinot Noir. The grapes come from the Rittersberg vineyard, located on a south-southeast-facing hillside. The southeast exposure is therefore optimal for perfect ripening of the grapes. The 2-mica granite soil is both crumbly and rich, giving the wine a unique minerality typical of this terroir.
Appearance
Rittersberg Pinot Noir is characterized by its brilliant ruby colour, dotted with purplish tints.
Aroma
Its bouquet is both powerful and expressive, with predominantly black fruit aromas. Blackcurrant and blackberry are present, adding a rich fruitiness.
