In a few words ...

This pretty cru, located in Lugon on the banks of the Dordogne, is home to numerous Gallo-Roman remains that bear witness to its ancient winegrowing past. Since 1997, it has belonged to the Janoueix family, originally from Corrèze and established on the right bank since 1898. Château Croix Mouton wines are vinified with the advice of oenologist Jean-Philippe Fort (Laboratoire Michel Rolland), and aged partly in barrel, the rest in vat. They offer all the deliciousness of Merlot, with the stamp of Janoueix know-how. James Suckling ( 90 )

Tasted after leaving uncorked for 2 hours. Flattering and pleasant nose, with woody and cocoa aromas. Light attack on the palate, surprisingly fresh for a 2015 vintage at 14.5°. The tasting is delicate, not very powerful, as the tannins have already melted enough for a wine that seems ready to drink. Good length on the palate.

Very good wine, surprising on the palate as it is very marked but subtle, very well balanced. Excellent value for money.
