Established in the late 18th century, Château Daugay was an integral part of Château Angélus between 1946 and 1985. In 2005, Hélène de Boüard Grenié took over the running of the estate from her father. She applies the same methods used at Château Angélus, of which she is co-owner. The name Daugay comes from the jay, a bird well known on the southern slopes of Saint-Emilion and known as "daougay" in the local dialect.
