Second wine of Château Léoville Poyferré, Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré, AOC Saint-Julien, has benefited from the same care in harvesting and vinification as its big brother, Second Cru Classé du Médoc. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (52%), Merlot (24%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petit Verdot (8%) harvested from limestone soil, this dark, fruity red wine, with blackcurrant and blackberry aromas, is aged in barrel for 1 to 2 years. Its velvety, fleshy tannins are supple and elegant. Perfectly balanced, it will be excellent with roast beef.
Appearance
Dense, dark garnet-red color, tending toward violet in its youth.
Aroma
The nose is composed of violets and empyreumatic aromas such as wood, torrefaction, vanilla... As the wine ages, it will reveal high-quality game and truffle aromas.

Taste
Saint-Julien wines are renowned for combining the feminine finesse of Margaux wines with the strength of Pauillac wines. As a result, we'll find full-bodied tannins with a strong note of black fruit, giving an interesting overall balance.
