    In a few words ...

Second wine of Château Rieussec, Grand Cru Classé 1855, Carmes de Rieussec is a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle grapes. Planted on gravel-covered silty soil, the vines are meticulously hand-harvested in several selections to make the most of the botrytized grapes. After 18 months' ageing in oak barrels, this elegant sweet white wine with golden hues, produced in AOP Sauternes, reveals subtle aromas of gourmet pineapple on the nose. Citrus fruit dominates: enjoy as an aperitif, with foie gras or with goat's or blue cheeses.

Le Guide Hachette des Vins Critique professionnel

"Less concentrated than its predecessor, Rieussec's second wine is pale gold in color, with a delicate bouquet of crumb, apricot and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with toffee aromas typical of wines from botrytized harvests. The long, harmonious finish augurs well for the future.

    Tasting notes

    Appearance

The robe can vary over the entire range of colors from pale gold to coppery gold through straw yellow.

    Aroma

In the main aromatic field of soft and sweet Bordeaux we find the flower, the fresh fruits, the exotic fruits but also spicy notes and empireumatiques (wood, cinnamon, vanilla ...).

    Taste

The sweet white young are delicious, they are slightly jammy but still retain acidity. With age they evolve on more concentrated aromas, such as the bitter orange confit and small notes of salted butter caramel.
