Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru les Crots Albert Bichot Red wine ● Nuits-Saint-Georges
2014 75clThe Nuits-Saint-Georges AOC covers 2 communes: Nuits-Saint-Georges and Prémeaux-Prissey, on the way to Beaune. Nuits-saint-Georges gave its name to the Côte de Nuits and is almost exclusively devoted to the production of red wines from the Pinot noir grape. The Nuits-Saint-Georges communal appellation area covers 163.5 ha in the commune of Nuits and 11.8 ha in the commune of Prémeaux-Prissey. The Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru or Nuits Premier Cru appellation covers 100.5 ha in Nuits, and 42.2 ha in Prémeaux-Prissey. Differences in orientation and soils between the vineyards to the south and north of Nuits-saint-Georges give rise to a certain diversity of wines. "Les Crots" is located in the southern part of the Nuits-Saint-Georges commune, on the Côte de Nuits. The soils are brown limestone, on Jurassic limestone. The name "Les Crots" (a dialectal variant of Creux) confirms the relief of this very steep hillside, with a counter-slope forming a significant hollow.
