An exceptional terroir for one of the appellation's most representative wines. The phtanite soil stores heat during the day and releases it at night. The vineyard faces due south for optimal sun exposure, and the proximity of the Loire River helps dry out the grapes. The wine is then vinified in old oak barrels to bring finesse and complexity.
Only a wall separates this parcel from the Coulée de Serrant appellation.

With a lively attack, this wine is both mineral and very floral, classic Chenin. On the other hand, I find it more than ripe, perhaps already at the end of its course, which surprises me for a Savennières from a renowned Château.

Not bad, but nothing special. Very dry, mineral and citrusy, especially lemon. A little "flat" though, perhaps on the wane given its age.
