Plantation rums are divided into three distinct ranges. On the one hand, the brand offers a range of tasting rums, blends refined by the Maison Ferrand cellar master; on the other, a range of rums designed for cocktails and the bar world; and finally, a range of limited edition vintage rums. Conceived in the traditional way, produced in rum distilleries and aged in barrels under the tropical sun, Plantation rums benefit from a unique ageing process: "double ageing" - at the appropriate moment, the rums are brought back from their country of origin to the Domaine de Bonbonnet in Cognac, and matured for several more months in Maison Ferrand's own small oak barrels.
Tasting notes
Aroma
Intense, complex nose of exotic fruits (banana, mango) and spices, followed by vanilla and herbal notes (mint, oregano).
Taste
Unctuous, gourmand palate with notes of dark chocolate and clove. Milky mouthfeel (coconut), becoming increasingly heady (tuberose, peony). Cardamom adds freshness. Long, tender finish with wood, spices and exotic fruit. A pleasant earthy note appears in retro-olfaction.
