This cuvée is made from 35-year-old vines. The plots from which our Bois des Moines cuvée is made are located on the estate's south-facing heights. This privileged terroir, well protected by a pine forest on gravelly soils with good drainage, is ideal for growing quality grapes.

Superb discovery. I usually buy Côtes du Rhône in the 8-10€ range, so I was tempted by the Bois des Moines and the 3-star Hachette.
And 0 regrets! You can really tell the difference, it's simply delicious.

This wine is reminiscent of Chateauneuf du Pape. Ripe fruit, jammy prunes. Quite full-bodied. A sensation of fruit on the palate. Goes well with spicy dishes, red meats or game.

The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Château Gigognan and its 13 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
