Considered one of the greatest vintages for Barbaresco, a classic vintage like 2004 and 1996. January and February were very cold, with numerous snowstorms and temperatures well below average. A snow peak on March 15 in Barbaresco marked the end of a long, cold winter. As a result, the buds didn't arrive until April 6, a week later than usual. Spring was fairly cold, with lots of light rain, and only in June did daytime temperatures rise above 30°C. Conditions remained summery for July, while early August was dry during the day and cooler at night. The weather in August and September proved almost perfect for the health and quality of the grapes, with light rain and cool nights followed by sunny, warm and dry days. This situation continued right up to the harvest.
Appearance
Deep, intense ruby color.
Aroma
Nez dominé par des notes d'eucalyptus, de réglisse, de rose et de fruits rouges. Avec le vieillissement, ou l'aération, il offrira un bouquet de notes florales, d'épices douces et même une touche de goudron frais.

Taste
On the palate, this wine is vigorous, very sappy, with great purity of flavor. A great, elegant wine, very persistent, with velvety, refined tannins, enriched by a myriad of fresh, mineral notes.
