Domaine Capelanel
Meet Sébastien Dauliac, the fifth in the order of generations on the Capelanel estate. A magnificent place where the soils have the particularity of being siderolithic (clay mixed with iron fragments). These brown soils are rare in the appellation and give Malbecs an exceptional freshness and length in the mouth. This is why he has always favoured finesse over extraction to offer Cahors that are more linear than square.
Part of the Part of the Guide Hachette's "Green Guide", the vineyard has earned a solid reputation. With a delicate structure, Petitou opens the range. La Rangée du Curé, more monastic than the others, is still tightly wound but nevertheless has the sap to last. His Cahors wines show very little extraction but infusion, without heaviness. A reference to be tasted without further delay!
