"The prettiest version of this Châteauneuf"
Château du Mourre du Tendre
"Buy everything that they are willing to part with. The wines are that remarkable." (European Cellars)
"This is the prettiest version of this cuvée I can remember tasting. (...) it's showing delicate garrigue notes and kirsch on the nose, ample weight and creamy tannins on the mid-palate, then folds in complex notes of tea and dried spices on the long finish." (Parker about Châteauneuf Très Vieilles Vignes 2017)
Château du Mourre du Tendre has been in the family for 7 generations. In 2013, Paul Paumel took over the wine estate when he was only 18 years old, making him the youngest winegrower in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He perpetuates the family heritage with the know-how instilled by his grandfather, everything is done manually, never using pesticides in the vines...
"Charming, bold and structured, the wines age beautifully and gracefully, even the Côtes-du-Rhône." (European Cellars)
