The winemaker

The château-style bodega was built in 1987 and acquired by La Rioja Alta, S.A. in 1995. Located in Páganos, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, where the vineyards, climate and sustainable farming practices give the grapes a unique expression: high concentration of intense, elegant tannins, structure and color with exceptional finesse and definition of fruit. The winery is surrounded by 46 hectares of the region's finest terroirs. Opposed to the classic Rioja style of La Rioja Alta, S.A. wines, Finca San Martín and Finca Martelo seek to express a terroir of unique quality and delicacy, a modern version of Rioja under the same concept: a continuous search for excellence.
