The family vineyard was born in 1904, and it is on this basis that Laurence and Jean-François Rière created the Domaine Rière Cadène in 1994. Philip 2019 is dedicated to Philip Mazzei (1730-1816), an illustrious family ancestor. Not only did he introduce viticulture to Virginia, USA, but he also inspired his friend Thomas Jefferson to include the doctrine "all men are created equal" in the Declaration of Independence.

The Domaine Tour Saint Michel, a family property, has existed for three generations. Michel Fabre, founder of the estate in 1930, passed on his passion to his son Henri. With the help of his wife Eliane, Henri developed and expanded the estate to 40 hectares.
