Wife of Nicolas Rolin, founder of the Hospices de Beaune, Guigone de Salins moved from Autun to Beaune in 1461, after her husband's death, to take charge of the Hôtel-Dieu. She devoted a large part of her fortune to supporting patients until her death at the age of 82.
