The winemaker

La Clape is located east of Narbonne and facing the Mediterranean. It is listed both wild and romantic. The soil consists of red clay and limestone. Climate is under the influence of relative altitude, sea and winds. The summer period marked by the heat and dry time represents the ideal conditions for viticulture. Mas: rural house or separate buildings in the south of France. Soleilla: name given to a nearby hill, worshiping the omnipresent sun. Le Mas du Soleilla has a craft and qualitative vocation. We take great care to work the vineyards. Harvesting is done by hand and the grapes are carefully sorted. The yields are very low: 28 hl / ha. We apply an organic and very friendly cultivation of the soil and the environment. The average age of the vines is 30 years with a maximum of 50 years. They are led by high espaliers. We grow grape varieties typical of the region: Bourboulenc, white grape very old, Syrah, Black Grenache, Mourvèdre, but also those who are very well established as Roussanne (white) for its elegance, Merlot for its fruit rich and the noble Cabernet Franc.
