The winemaker

Château BEGOT, managed by Joachim HAAS, a young winemaker, is located in the heart of the Côtes de Bourg region. This estate, which has been run for several generations, has preserved its old vines. Its south-facing terroir is composed of clay, limestone and yellow gravel. with Cabernet-Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Malbec. This diversity makes for generous, complex, high-quality wines. Joachim's concern for the environment and respect for consumers makes it a point of honor to work with sustainable agriculture. The vines are weeded with ploughs, he uses only organic products and has installed sex hormone boxes to combat insect pests. In 2019, Château BEGOT was awarded the HVE3 label, and the vineyard is undergoing ORGANIC conversion: the aim is to achieve the BIO label by harvesting in 2023.
