Vietti - barolo castiglione falletto 2014vietti is a piacute;mont wine producer in northwestern italy, located in the heart of the langhe hills, atop the village of castiglione falletto. The estate, founded by Carlo Vietti, has existed since the late 1800s, but its reputation grew in the 1960s when Luciana Vietti married winemaker and art connoisseur Alfredo Currado. His insights into the production of one of the first Barolo crus (rocche di castiglione in 1961), the monocoque vinification of arneis (1967) and the invention of artist's labels (1974) made him both the symbol and architect of some of the most important developments in the wine industry. The management of the vineyard was taken over by luca currado vietti and his wife elena, before being acquired in 2016 by krause holdings, enabling luca and elena, still the head of the vietti brand, to add a number of prized vintages to the estate's heritage. Vietti is particularly well known for its range of Barolo parcel wines, its Barberas, and also its association with the arneis varietal.This Barolo Castiglione is made from nebbiolo grapes. The grapes are selected from small vineyards in the Barolo region. The vines are between 7 and 40 years old, planted in clay-limestone soil. All the different lots are vinified and yeasted separately, using slightly different processes to highlight the singular characteristics of each plot and terroir. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with daily immersion of the must to extract flavor and color. The wine is matured for around 30 months in oak barrels; all lots from each parcel are then carefully blended before bottling.cépage : 100% nebbiolo
