The Perrin family is renowned for its prestigious Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, revered by Robert Parker. Château Beaucastel is composed of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise and 20% other grape varieties. A complex blend, to be sure, but one that has elevated this cuvée and the estate to the highest international level. Its reputation precedes it, and some say it's one of the 10 best wines in the world... The Revue du Vin de France rated it Number 1 in its ranking of the "best southern wines".

The appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Famille Perrin - Château de Beaucastel and its 48 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
