Les Vaucopins is a premier cru in a class of its own within the extensive Domaine Long-Depaquit range. Located on the right bank of the Serein, this climat is situated in the commune of Chichée, 3 km east of Chablis. We are fortunate to own an exceptional 5 ha parcel, out of a total of 41 ha in the Vaucopins appellation (or Vaucoupins as it is often spelled). Its terroir bears an uncanny resemblance to that of the grands crus: southern exposure, steep slope and numerous outcrops of Kimmeridgian, the subsoil that has such a distinctive effect on the expression of these wines. From this noble origin and an often warm terroir, we can already guess at the potential of this top-of-the-range 1er Cru.
Appearance
Jaune pâle aux tendres reflets couleur chèvrefeuille.
Aroma
Expressive and relatively powerful, with a strong minerality. Notes of butterscotch mingle with a fine, elegant woodiness.
Wine Mineral
Taste
Impression de sucrosité apparaît : fruits confits, abricot, coing. Cette belle matière étoffée laisse place à une finale ample et finement acidulée.
