Saint Estèphe wines are the most tannic in the Médoc. Dressed in garnet red, they remain closed in the mouth for a long time, only to explode when they reach maturity. The 1991 vintage was disrupted by frosts in April, which spared the vineyards near rivers. It was an average year. The red wines had fairly low acidity and were supple. Their color and tannic structure are not dense enough. They are still full of pleasure.
