    In a few words ...

Haut Médoc is located upstream from the Gironde estuary. The gravelly composition of the soil encourages the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are concentrated and tannic, requiring at least 6 months of ageing. When young, the nose offers aromas of red and black fruits, evolving towards spices and vanilla to a greater or lesser extent with ageing. Haut-Medoc is a great wine for laying down.
The 1981 vintage is a little-known one, as it was austere at the outset. It has evolved favorably and can still offer good bottles.

First order, so some anxiety when opening this bottle. Tasted with a cabbage stew. Velvety, fruity, supple. A delight for this first order. Excellent value for money. Ah! if my future tastings of TWIL wines (including those in the monthly box offered to me) are anything like this one, I'll be in for a real treat...

Just as I like my Cru Bourgeois wines: not too heavy, fruity and easy to drink. But, remember to chill the wine, 30 minutes inside your fridge will bring out the fruit.

Blend of 3 interesting grape varieties: Cabernet franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot. A powerful wine with a fine balance between acidity and tannins. Perfect with poultry and beef!

I do not regret this purchase. Perfect wine in the mouth. I'm waiting about 3 years to taste this 2015 again and possibly improve its score. Patient .......
