chateau greysac covers 97 hectares planted with 50% merlot, 48% cabernet sauvignon and 2% cabernet franc. its second wine is the famous chateau de by. 1973 was the first vintage produced by new owners the ifint group (agnelli) and baron françois de gunzburg. The Medocs are distinguished by their deep color, fruity bouquet and roundness. The 1994 vintage would have been a great year had it not been for the September rains, which prevented full ripening. The reds are well-structured, more tannic than the 1993s, but sometimes a little dry. The earlier-ripening Merlot ripened better than the Cabernet Sauvignon, so the Right Bank is at an advantage.
