Graves red wines are made from a well-balanced blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a fine tannic structure. Red fruit aromas dominate with spicy notes. With ageing, the bouquet is enriched by animal notes. White wines made from the Semillon grape are fresh, round and offer floral notes.
The overly mild winter of 2001 was followed by a rainy July. The vintage was a late one, with harvests lasting until mid-October. The diversity of this vintage makes it necessary to be selective in terms of estates. The St Emilions and Pessac Léognans are perfect. The Bordeaux sweet wines are exceptional.
