Châteauneuf-du-Pape is undoubtedly the most prestigious appellation in the Côtes du Rhône. Rhône appellation. Its worldwide renown is well established. In 1987, Domaine Saint Gayan had the opportunity to acquire a parcel of land adjoining the vineyards of the famous Château de Beaucastel, at a place known as "La Janasse". "Janasse". We have chosen to age this cuvée in recent demi-muids (traditional 600-liter barrels used for 2 to 5 wines). Without heaviness or rusticity, this Châteauneuf will evolve in the best possible way.

The appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine Saint Gayan and its 6 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
