Domaine joseph chamonard - morgon 2017the domaine joseph chamonard is a small estate in the heart of the beaujolais region, run by geneviève and jean-claude chanudet (known as "le chat"). The domaine has been established in the Morgon and Fleurie appellations since the 18th century, and the vines are between 60 and 90 years old. The terroir is composed of pink granite, composite rock and friable schist, with southern exposure. The morgon parcels (les chênes, corcelette, les grands cras and le colombier) are located in the commune of villié-morgon. Domaine Chamonard also cultivates half a hectare of vines on the most beautiful hill in Fleurie, at an altitude of 400 m. The vines are grown organically, with respect for the environment: chemical-free, hand-picked, with light ploughing of the soil. In the cellars, only indigenous yeasts are used during fermentation, and human intervention is minimal, in the same vein as for vins natures.le morgon 2017 est élaboré à partir de gamay, trié minutieusement. Vinification takes place in whole bunches at low temperatures to obtain a semi-carbonic maceration. Fermentation begins with natural yeasts, then no additions, no sulfiting or chaptalization. Vatting lasts 20 days, followed by 8 to 10 months of ageing, 30% of which takes place in oak barrels. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.cépage : 100% gamay
