In a few words ...
"the montagne de corton brings together the villages of ladoix-serrigny, aloxe-corton and pernand-vergelesses, between the côte des pierres (south of the côte de nuits, where vines mingle with the comblanchien stone quarries) and savigny-lès-beaune (north of the côte de beaune). The vineyards lie between 250 and 330 meters above sea level, forming an amphitheatre unlike any other on the Côte. In addition to the white Corton-Charlemagne, the Corton mountain produces Corton: "the king of the bon-vivants", in the words of Camille Rodier.Recognized on July 31, 1937, this grand cru is mainly produced as a red wine (it can be named after any of the 25 different climates), but also exists as a white wine (although the volume is not very high). Although Burgundy suffered a number of climatic damages in 2016, there were few if any damaged harvests, and yields were even fairly consistent. Generally speaking, the whites will have notes of white fruit, while the reds will have a nice intensity."
