In a few words ...
la cote rotie offers a delicate bouquet dominated by raspberry and spices, with a touch of violet. A well-structured, tannic wine with a long finish, it gains exceptional fullness with age. Legend has it that there are 2 valleys, the cote brune and the cote blonde, named after the color of the 2 daughters of the lord of Ampuis. In fact, it's the different colors of the rocks that make up the 2 valleys.
2004 is a vintage >! It had winegrowers shaking their heads all summer long. After a 2003 vintage marked by concentration, the vines caught up and produced a large quantity of grapes.

The appellation Côte-Rôtie is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Maison Guigal and its 101 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
