Jean-jacques robert passed on the domaine to his sons nicolas and antoine in 2015. The vineyard is positioned on the terroirs of fuissé and solutré-pouilly: the plots of old vines, on average 75 years old, contribute to the production of wines with strong identities. Here, we vinify without inputs, often without sulfur, using organic methods. With no new wood and a high proportion of large containers, ageing is often lengthy, exceeding two years in some vintages. The result is racy, peasant and noble wines that are among the region's most exciting productions. Made from old gamay vines grown on granitic Beaujolais soils, robert denogent's beaujolais-villages 2023 "jules chauvet" pays tribute to the pioneering spirit of great natural wines. Vinified using a low-intervention approach, with fermentations carried out with indigenous yeasts and precise ageing, this wine favors the pure expression of fruit and terroir. The nose is intensely aromatic, with notes of fresh red fruit - cherry, raspberry, redcurrant - complemented by floral nuances, peony and a hint of spice.
