This wine is an extract from the estate's oldest vines, among the oldest on the European continent. It bears the name of my dear and loving wife. These very old vines have deep roots, which draw the richness of the soil from far away, concentrating it in very few bunches. Of course, the yield is very limited, around 20 to 25 hectolitres per hectare. But does it really matter? In these plots, the grape varieties are mixed, with a majority of Grenache. The choice of grape varieties is the fruit of the history and work of the ANCETRES VIGNERONS of PAULE COURTIL, my wife. I vinify this wine with great care, extracting the aromas from the grapes. Then I age it for a year in new oak barrels or one-wine barrels to give it suppleness.

The appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine l'Or de Line and its 3 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
