Cotes de Bourg reds are fruity, fleshy wines with good ageing potential.The red wines, with their red and black fruit aromas, have a tannic structure that is refined by ageing, often in barrels, which enriches the wines with toasty, vanilla notes.
The 1995 vintage had a very fine summer. In September, however, produtceurs thought it would be a repeat of the 1994 vintage. The rain arrived on the 7th, but it wasn't abundant and concentrated, so there was no dilution effect, especially as the vines were suffering from drought. Fine weather returned on September 17.
