The winemaker

The area is an exclusively family business for three generations. Meyer came from a Swiss family who immigrated to Katzenthal in 1732. Felix Meyer (1877-1964) was the founder of the field. He bought the house operation seat and started the cultivation of vines. His daughter, Lucia still participates in the vineyards and the harvest. Lucia Fonné said Tata Lucia aunt François Meyer, small-son of Felix, which settled on the area in the 60s and initiated bottling and commercialization in particular. Nicole, married François in 1969 and joined the field after the birth of their second child. Nicole Meyer is responsible for the office and sale at the cellar. The quality of the reception and the wines are a guarantee of longevity of exploitation. In 1992, Felix Francis and Nicole Elder takes the field and develops export sales. He modernized the facilities and equipment and gives its footprint in perfect agreement with his father to wine and fashion culture. It is undertaking to expand the area by diversifying terroirs and wines. At the family nucleus are added salaried employees, the number of both permanent Fabrice used since 2002 to work the vineyards and operation of tractors and other machines and since 2008, Anne-Marie, who came to join the men in the vineyards .
