The winemaker

The field SCHAEFFER is a family business located in Epfig the largest wine town in Alsace. In the tradition of generations of winemakers, the development by four people, 12 hectares of vineyards allows the development of nearly 80 000 bottles. The parcels of vines, very fragmented, spread around the villages of Dambach la Ville, Blienschwiller Epfig Gertwiller Obernai and where Heiligenstein harvested Klevener Heiligenstein. The 7 Alsace grape varieties (Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Black) planted according to the nature of the earth, are at the origin of a traditional range of dry and fruity wines, white, rosé or red. The vineyard is made in compliance with the charter of sustainable viticulture, and since 2009 as part of the conversion to organic farming. The vinification and aging of wines in oak casks or vats "stainless" combine ancestral knowledge and modern technology to ensure the highest quality of our products. Particular care is taken from the vine to the preparation of raw Fronholz and Hertenstein, marked by the typical characteristics of the terroir. During your stay in Alsace, you are invited to visit the estate and vineyard and discover its Crus, family, group or with your camper. During the summer, we organize tours from vine to wine with food-tasting of regional products and our wines. You can also meet us during more than 20 exhibitions in different parts of France or on the occasion of our Open House on Whit Monday
