The winemaker

The history of the vineyard is primarily family. Indeed, since 1850, six generations have passed, and perpetuated the family winemaking tradition. Since both Thomas and Paul brothers took over the field, things have greatly advanced. Keeping the ancestral know-how, they wanted to modernize the wine, favoring local grape variety, the Burgundian climates method. This commitment stems from the atypical situation of Alsace, which is influenced by two cultures: one that highlights the terroir rather French, and one that highlights the varieties, rather German. The desire is to join these two worlds, producing wines that sublimate the soil through vines. If this innovation could offend purists, the winemakers of WIne Advocate (book critic Robert Parker) meanwhile welcomed this highly risk-taking that it considers very successful. Also in this modernization process, they have made the choice to go organic. They are also certified since 2014.
