The winemaker

The Schmitt & Carrer estate is first and foremost a family story that began in 1985. Roger Schmitt joined forces with his son-in-law, Roland Carrer, and founded the vineyard. Both had a strong attachment to their land, and were determined to use the vineyard to promote Alsace's know-how and terroir. Today, Sylvie, Roland and Anne-Cécile Carrer, their daughters, manage the Schmitt & Carrer estate. The estate's 14 hectares are certified organic by Ecocert. On the Alsatian soil of Kientzheim, the family takes great care to produce pure wines. Their approach is designed to pioneer the viticulture of tomorrow.
