It would take a lifetime to learn everything there is to know about wine. To appreciate it, all you have to do is taste it and love it. Alsace's winemaking tradition is the result of a tumultuous history between France and Germany. The Baltzinger line originated in a small village in the Haut-Rhin. In the 16th century, our ancestor left the Haut-Rhin and settled on the banks of the Kirneck in Gertwiller, a village belonging to a Protestant seigneury. Several generations of Baltzingers have been farmers and winegrowers. Since the 1960s, they have devoted themselves exclusively to working the vines and producing Alsace wines.
