The winemaker

The field of Germain covers 3.5 hectares in the communes of St Julien, Blace and since 2014 to 1.10 hectares in the commune of Chénas. We produce AOC (AOC) Beaujolais, Beaujolais Villages, Windmill and Chénas. These AOC are from a single grape variety, Gamay Noir with white juice. The vines are between 300 and 400 m altitude on clay and limestone hills very steep for Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages and of granitic soils for Chénas and Moulin-à-Vent. According to the plot, the vines are 40 to 80 years, they are all cut cup, the traditional size of the region. The majority of tasks are performed manually and voluntarily we cultivate the vine reasoned manner with respect for the environment.
