To appreciate the fruit of a land at its fair value, we must first know the origin and peculiarities. The soil is a key concept in the Bordeaux region. Its definition covers many more subtleties than just geographical area it implies. It is an interaction of several factors, an alchemy between soil, climate, relief and of course the hand of the man and his expertise. In Saint-Emilion, the topography is gently undulating, with plateaus and hillsides. This promotes such a draining some soils.       Climate-wise, it is typically oceanic and temperate, like the whole of Bordeaux, lulled by the Gulfstream and protected by the Landes forest. And even if we are a little further inland with a stronger continental character, the presence of the Dordogne and Isle contribute to temper. The floors are diversified, consisting of alternating and serious suits, sand, clay and limestone. All of these are suitable for growing Merlot, which is the king of grapes Wine of Saint-Emilion. It provides them with unparalleled aromatic richness, color, flexibility and crisp on the palate. The nose immediately recognize the aromas of ripe red and black fruits and flowers that change after a few years to the fig or plum. For an assembly in the rules, it is complete with Cabernet Franc, whose fresh bouquet and tannins contribute to a perfect structure and an aging potential.
