The winemaker
The first vintage date of 1981. It was purchased in 1997 by Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, whose owner Madame Lencquesaingavait intended to extend the range of its wines by taking a cru bourgeois close to Pichon. In 1998 significant investments are made at the castle, in the vineyard of 35 hectares and in the winery. The planting was reduced today to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The soil of the area is predominantly composed of gravelly-sandy soils promote drainage, extending a clay subsoil. In 2007, the House of Champagne Louis Roederer acquired the Château Bernadotte and the Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. The soils of the area are then analyzed, a renovation of the vineyard is done by grouping plots and making plantations.
