The winemaker

Château Bonalgue is located northeast of Libourne, behind the racecourse, on sandy-clay gravel and an "iron dross" subsoil typical of the Pomerol terroir. Its history dates back to Napoleonic times, when a veteran of the Grande Armée inherited the "Graves de Bonalgue". In the midst of the vines, Captain Rabion had his residence built, surrounded by cedars of Lebanon. In 1926, the Bourotte family became the owners. This marked the beginning of a period of restructuring of the estate, which was to bear fruit.
