The winemaker

Château Branda was built in the 14ᵉ century on the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa. The château was then converted into a Chateau de Residence in the early 16th century by Antoine de Chanteloube and Catherine de Montferrand. Branda was attached to the barony of Cadillac in 1599 by Louis de Gentilh, a wealthy parliamentarian. At that time, the properties of Cadillac, built in 1502, and Branda formed a single entity of over 500 hectares of cultivable land. In the 1990s, the château's original owners began restoring the buildings and medieval garden to their former glory. Château Branda is located on the sunny slopes of the Dordogne Valley, 15 kilometers west of Saint-Emilion, in one of Bordeaux's most beautiful wine-growing areas. The typicity and richness of our wines emanate naturally from the diversity of our terroir and climate. The 27 hectares of vines, over 40 years old, stretch around a 14th-century fortress, and are divided between the Appellations Bordeaux Rouge (23 hectares made up of 50% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon) and Bordeaux Blanc (4 hectares made up of Sauvignon Blanc).
