The winemaker

A sixty kilometers north of Bordeaux, Château Charmail is located in Saint-Seurin de Cadourne, in the heart of the Médoc two kilometers from Saint-Estèphe. rare privilege! The chateau benefits both the steeple of the village and a view overlooking the Gironde estuary. A very mild micro-climate which, together with a pronounced relief and a wide variety of soils, sign the power of this beautiful land. The Charmail name comes from a noble family from Brittany who took stronghold in the Medoc in the 16th century, Trevey of Charmail. In 1982, Olivier Sèze takes the fate of the property in hand. Visionary and demanding for almost 30 years, he makes wine with conviction and talent beautifully balanced wines. In 2008, Bernard D'Halluin, high chti in Bordeaux, has a real crush on Charmail to redeem Olivier Sèze. The two men now form a complementary duo in the service of the property.
