The winemaker

At Castle Coudot we drive our vineyard in the Médoc tradition size two canes with three buds per aste, épamprages, leaf removal, green harvest if necessary ... All these works are carried out in the utmost respect of the vine in order to obtain grapes of the highest quality. This is the result of work conducted by the three family Blanchard brothers, Joel, Daniel and Remy. When we return our harvest, we encuvons variety by variety of qualities of grapes previously determined by tasting the grapes with our oenologist. After malolactic fermentation, in early spring, we taste the wines in the tank to determine the connections that will give the first and second wines. The wines will be assembled and aged in oak barrels for a year. We harvest from the machine 1994 choice that aims to pick the berries of different grapes at optimum ripeness. The harvest is sorted on site end Rege. However, before the harvest, we have previously done a sort on foot. Arrived at the winery, the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed and then vatted. Variety by variety, the maceration are conducted in small tanks (50 to 165 hectoliters) allowing to respect the diversity of our region. So we get a wide range of expression to perfect our assemblies. After tasting our oenologists, Christophe Duboscq Cut and Sandra, we develop our great wine (70% average) and our second wine. We then descend wines in barrels for maturing a year.
