The winemaker
The exploitation of Castle Nauve has to start recovery in 1955 by Michel Veyry 4 ha of family land. The frosts of 1956 forced him to replant three quarters of its vineyards. Then, in the same movement that saw in the 1960s, the reconquest of stubble in the sandy plains of St Emilion, procure and planted new plots until 1975. The farm is located 40 km from Bordeaux in the North East of the Gironde, halfway between Libourne and Castillon La Bataille. The terroir of Saint Emilion borders and dominates the Dordogne on its right bank. The Castle of Nauve is in the southeastern town between river and hillside. The property extends over three municipalities affected by the Appellation: St Laurent des Combes, primarily, as well as St Emilion and St Hippolyte. It includes 7 hectares for the Appellation St Emilion and 3 hectares for the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.
