The Château Gigault terroir


Located between the communes of Mazion and Saint Genès de Blaye, Château Gigault is an emblematic representative of the Premières-Côtes -de-Blaye appellation. Its vineyards, covering almost 20 hectares, were planted some 30 years ago on clay-silica-limestone soil. They benefit from the sunny climate of the Bordeaux region, conducive to wines with strong structure and fruity flavors.

The wines of Château Gigault


Château Gigault focuses on wines of excellence. Its first vintage, named "Le 1998", was much talked about in the press, with potential judged as one of the best Côtes de Blaye. Château Gigault wines, aged for 9 months, are 100% Merlot, giving them a fleshy character and notes of red fruit with floral accents. Cuvée Viva is aged for 12 months in cement vats and wooden barrels, giving it even more character.
