Château Haut Peyrat

4.3
(2 customer reviews)
Château Haut-Peyrat has a legendary winegrowing history, as vines have been grown here since the 17th century and it appears in the first editions of the Féret guide, the Bordeaux bible. Didier and Isabelle Gil bought the Château in 2014 after a few years of emptiness, driven by their love of wine and vines. Today they are at the head of the estate and produce red and rosé wines in the Bordeaux Supérieurs and Bordeaux appellations. Find out more

The winemaker

With a rich winegrowing history dating back to the 17th century, the Château Haut-Peyrat today produces red wines in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation and a rosé wine in the Bordeaux appellation. The wine estate extends over 20 hectares to which are added 20 hectares of forests and meadows.
On the estate, Isabelle and Didier cultivate the emblematic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc but also Malbec. Concerned about the quality of their products as well as the respect of the environment, the winegrower-owners have decided to make important choices in the management of the vineyard.
Thanks to this respectful viticulture, Château Haut-Peyrat has been HVE 3 certified since 2017 for the greatest pride of the owners. Sheep roam the vineyard in winter to help with natural weeding.
