Château La Branne is a family wine estate located in the commune of Bédagan. Since 1986, Philippe Videau has taken over the reins of the Château and has undertaken a modernisation of the estate. The vineyard now covers 30 hectares, made up of the emblematic grape varieties of the Médoc: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Find out more

The winemaker
Château La Branne is a family wine estate located on the Médoc peninsula in Bédagan. The 30 hectare vineyard benefits from a preserved environment and a privileged terroir favourable to the culture of the vine with clayey limestone, clayey gravelly and sandy gravelly soils. At Château La Branne, the grape varieties honour the emblematic grape varieties of the Médoc mixing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
With a view to respecting the environment and protecting the terroirs, the vineyard is run under integrated agriculture under the High Environmental ValueLevel 3 label. The protection of biodiversity has its place in the conduct of the vineyard and in this sense Château La Branne hosts on its land beehives and flower seedlings.
The passion for the vine and wine passed down from generation to generation is reflected in the recognition of the Château's wines as Cru Bourgeois every year since 2008. This recognition took a new turn in 2020 with the classification of the Château's wines as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. This new classification is based on the quality of the wines guaranteed by a committee of tasters, on sustainable and eco-responsible viticulture and on the commercial development of the cru, the reception at the property and its reputation.
At Château de La Branne, history is written over the generations, so it is only natural that Vincent, Philippe Videau's son, with his wine-making experience acquired in Chile and New Zealand, joined the family Château.
