The winemaker

In 1996, the De Schepper family, already owner of Château Tour Baladoz, acquired the neighboring property, Château Croizille (5 hectares) in Saint-Laurent-des-Combes. At first sight the relatively unknown property is not particularly impressive. Nevertheless, two years later, the decision was taken to make this acquisition an extraordinary wine. Out of respect for nature. Admittedly the land lends itself beautifully to the development of a great wine. Indeed, the vineyard is located on a base of limestone molasses that comes touching the plateau of Saint-Emilion. Its south-facing slopes guarantee exceptional exposure conducive to perfect ripening berries. Out of respect for previous generations. Emile father from his distant Belgian Firmin and his son then succeeded at the cost of many years of work and significant investment to bring the Castle Tower Baladoz at its current level, that is to say, a proud representative of Grands Crus of Saint Emilion. What more natural now that Jacques, the youngest son, wants to place the crown on the 50 years of presence in Saint-Emilion and do Château Croizille an exceptional wine. In the wine world, the tradition remains important. By then challenge! The new team wants to prove that intelligent meeting of man and nature can create an exceptional work. Their leader, Jean-Michel Garcion, recognizes perfectly in this challenge and makes every effort to build a reputable wine. His attention to all the factors likely to influence the life and evolution of the wine is manifested even in the smallest details. It is therefore necessary to place the Château Croizille in the elusive interactions between the genetic, physical composition of the environment and human genius. Each bottle is the result of a continuous and relentless pursuit of perfection and beauty.
