The winemaker

The estate takes its name from one of its first owners in 1611, Marie Laville, widow of a Queyrac referendary councilor. Much later, in 1983, the Dillon family, owners of Château Haut-Brion, bought the neighboring Mission and Laville Haut-Brion estates from the Woltner heirs. They are more than close, as the vines of the latter are included in the 30 hectares of Mission Haut-Brion. Since the 2009 vintage, Château Laville Haut-Brion has reverted to its original name, Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc. In fact, only one cuvée is produced here, a white Graves among the most sought-after in the appellation.
